64 Leaf Tree

Far and away my most involved piece to date, 64 Leaf Tree builds on the original Leaf Tree design but quadruples the number of leaves in a piece about the same size and form factor as the original 16 Leaf Tree.  This latest version has no visible bearings or means of connection.  The original 16 Leaf Tree literally was held together with visible nuts and bolts and the subsequent 32 Leaf Tree had visible openings in square tube and visible ball bearings.  64 Leaves hides all the mechanics.  All of the Leaf Tree pieces are for low to moderate wind conditions.  It's also a wonderful piece to have in direct sunlight while adjoining spaces are in shade because of the dramatic reflections thrown everywhere by the mirror-finished leaves.

My next work in this series will return to the large 12" x 12" leaves of the original but with all the of the design improvements of the most recent version.
